RE: possible revolution demo...
I'm almost 100% sure this can't be true, and I pray it can't be true...
First of all, how many times have you sat up at 1 o'clock in the morning, with your parents sleeping next door, playing games? With voice involved it would become almost impossible and ruin one of the most fun parts of gaming - playing when not allowed to :p Think about the hundreds of millions of accents all around the world. It's already been proven that Brits say a word like 'Mario' differently to Americans (source - TouchDS.com ;)), and it's sure-fire to change between states, so how on earth would the Revo be able to pick out different accents. I have a strong Scottish accent, some people have a weaker one - almost everyone would have to have their own, personalised Revolution. This console's supposed to be cheap, remember!? |

RE: Re: RE: Hello all
Simple Euan. It could be programmed with all sorts of them, considering most games would only require a small array of words. It might even have you read them aloud several times to ensure it. If the game requires extensive and varied words or chains of words, you might have to do a short voice training course. I've helped a friend set up voice recognition so he could speak into a mic and it would type in word, and he had a large speech impediment. All he had to do was read several short stories (aesop's fables, fairy tales, short paragraphs) in order to train it. It also continually trained itself while you worked with it so that it got better every time you used it.

This Week's Japanese Sales -- AMAZING
Do it in a quiet room. We trained his computer at my house, and it's not exactly perpetual silence, nor was it then. It worked quite well still though. The biggest problem was when it would print words he hadn't said, or didn't know the word he was saying, but considering games would be working from a set vocabulary, this wouldn't be a problem.

Re: RE: ace combat 3 ds
I just think it would be so difficult in a game. Honestly, when your playing your PS2/GC/DS, whatever you happen to have, try saying allowed what you want to do on your controller. I tried it, and it's pretty difficult!
I'm only saying that with noise going on in the background, issuing instructions consisntently would be difficult and also another thing - it would get very tiring! |
