Why? Most have a manipulatable RNG, and in the case of both Mario and Luigi and Paper Mario, battles are not random, and your actions in battle actually reflect a certain skill element (action commands), so you have a large degree of control over the pace of the battle. Being able to blaze through the game with only 10 HP (later 5 - lolz danger mario) in paper mario should say something about just how much control you have.

Let's just go off topic.

You don't buy a TBRPG to beat it
You play it to get into the story and gameplay

I spend around 10-20 hour slonger than you should on an RPG just so i can have the full tbrpg experianace

The only reason this took so long was because of more game effects. The game effects take up more time in the game, so you will have to waste minute after minute on them in a battle with about four Pokemon on your enemies side. Another reason could be all of the Pokemon, plus the ratio for running into Pokemon and battling trainers is higher. My last reason is Team Galactic, taking up so much time in the Lakes, they JUST HAD TO BLOW THEM UP DIDNT THEY?! OH well, I hope I answered your question.

Well, I turned off the animations (after watching millions of "Intimidate" taking effect, it starts to annoy), and it still took me 35 hours to reach the Elite 4 and beat them. My team was only Lv50 when I got there, so it wasn't like I'd spent most of the time training.

And Marth has a point: why would you want such a great game to be over so quickly?

I don't think i would ever speedrun my Golden Sun.
I think my first run of it took like 40-50 hours. xD
And i still didn't do everything i wanted on that file.
Going on cutscenes that block things off FTL.

Anyways, they might have put more distance between towns or more pokemon encouters but not so many that you would notice.
The time all adds up. Or maybe you're just more aware of how long it's taking you to play. I know that sometimes i'm more aware than other times when i'm playing games.
(If that makes any sense)

Makes perfect sense. I've noticed that, especially when you don't think its taking a long time, and then check your play time.
