But PSP does have a (like you say pro's and cons) bigger screen, better graphics. It already has two better things than what the DS whats stopping it having more.

Actually, the battery life is 4-6 hrs for puzzle games (wait...didn't i mention that earlier...?)
Also, there are some pretty interesting games for PSP: such as Grand Theft Auto and umm....never mind. But still, i must agree that PSP is gonna suc pretty bad. Its not that i'm against sony, but i just like Nintendo ALOT more than sony.(And about their *new* design, that is all sleek and sexy...does it not look faguely familiar? Like...gameboy advance?)

I strongly agree. Its like EA saying they "challenge everything" but really they don't. Weve all seen football games and Lord Of The Rings games about 4 times. How original.

The same thing was said about the first Playstation. Just look at how much of the market the once inexperienced console making company holds.

True, but what company made the first Playstation (ie SNES CD).... hmmmm.... was it sega, nope, was it Microsoft? nope. Could it have been NINTENDO/SONY.... Yeah it was....

This Time Nintendo is not making the PSP.

I personally think the PSP will do quite well, and seems to have a faster processor.
The NDS is more invative, cheaper, and has a better battery life...

ultimatly games/marketing/consumer opinion will do more for the success of either, then the hard ware it's self.

The pSP and the DS will have disadvantages and advantages and they will battle a fair fight i say! But lets just hope the DS wins eh?

The screen will scratch easily, the system doesn't fold up like ds does to prtect itself.

That has to be one of the best points here, and something i dont think too many people will have thought about.

Sony are going in the right direction with PS3 ( cell processors ) but i still dont understand why they are even going to release the PSP. The response has been pitifull and the specs/info coming out just as pathetic. I think sony are trying to keep face here, i dont see how they will even dent the handheld market. This isnt an issue of software for me, the hardware just seems like the latest "stylish" mobile phone, it is badly planned for long term ownership. The most powerfull hardware can still flop, as i am sure you all agree.

Although Microsoft "borrowed" ideas from Apple's Graphical User Interface they still dominate the Computer Industry; all while Apple has been running along in the background fighting for their few percent of the market.

Sony made the Playstation 2 without Nintendo's help. They are not incompetent; they can compete with Nintendo for the handheld market. Even if they only get 5-20% of said market it's a majour achievement and would pave the way for them to further their stronghold of the gaming arena. Perhaps what Sony is going for isn't to push Nintendo out, just to get their foot in the door.

I should probably update my signature to reflect that I prefer Nintendo to the rest, most of my posts on this forum may get most here thinking otherwise.

The main thing that would attract me to the PSP is the incredible graphics. That is one of the things that i think that Nintendo could have done better in. I'm sure they could have made better graphics, and have dual screens, one being a touch screen. One of the most important things about systems and handhelds is their graphics. I think if Nintendo doesn't start making GREAT quality, they won't gain as much as they could be. Instead, their products lean more on the GOOD quality, when they could push a little more, break free from the boundaries, and make an incredible product. But, i am definately not saying DS isn't an incredible product. I'm just saying it could have been made a bit better. :?
