I can't see where the "bit more friendly" part comes from because the ongoing debate is far from heated, but I understand caution in a moderator.

That being said, I must admit that the "ehavy posts" part really took me by surprise : that has to be the first time I see a forum mod cracking down on people trying to detail their opinions and reasonings (on both side of the debate in that case) instead of sticking to stupid one-liners and name-calling. Way to elevate the level of the forum, thank you. Now, since I hate discussing with someone without being able to back up my claims and detail my reasonings/thoughts, I'll look elsewhere for a forum where mods don't ask posters to cut down on the amount they contribute, especially when said amount does not include any trolling or disturbing of the forum.

I'm absolutely sorry that the discussion between Mike and myself didn't degenerate into the "DS SUXORZ !!! PSP RUL3Z !" "n0 PSP si D4 SuX !!!! DS RoX0rZZZZ !" slugfest you were probably expecting, and that both of us tried to bring facts and arguments to the discussion. Won't happen anymore, don't worry.

corwin, i want to point out a few things. first, I respect Nintendo for being different, and going against the grain. But I respect Sony more for giving the gaming world what they want. Does that mean I like Nintendo any less? No, in fact the gaming company I want to last the longest, IS Nintendo.

and second, you accuse me of only pointing out the negative about nintendo, however, i noticed that you said nothing good about sony. You called me biased towards Sony, so do i sense a bias towards Nintendo inside of you? In which case, to you, we would be polar opposites. And there isn't a use in arguing, because we would end up right where we started out.

Unfortunately the "gaming world" as most of the world sees it isn't what I consider real gamers. Yes, Sony is probably giving the "gamers" (aka "graphics freaks") what they want, being PS2 graphics in their hands and not much else, but we're in an era where "gamers" and "real gamers" are beginning to be two very different things. Real gamers, if you didn't know already, are gamers that care more about the fun of gameplay and the innovation for it to have a high replay value more than they care for graphics and power, after all it is gameplay and not graphicsplay or anything like that. Sony targets gamers and Nintendo targets real gamers. I might not seem like it, but I don't have a problem with Sony targeting gamers, and when they claim that the PSP is for real gamers (they say that by competing against Nintendo), I have a problem and get the urge to make my thoughts known. Nintendo just defends their title of best company for real gamers.

It's true most of us are biased for DS and Nintendo, but that's what this site is about and must be expected and accepted by anyone that comes here. It's not the easiest thing for a biased person to point out the positives of the competition, but at least some of us are doing our best to give facts and none of the unproven/two-sided arguments of "PSP is better" vs. "DS is better". PSP has some really strong points that it would be cool for the DS to have, but IMO the DS' strong points outweigh it's weak points as well as the strong points of the PSP. We all have our opinions and as long as there's opposite sides, there's going to be arguments, and for some reason I like arguing about it (gotta vent somewhere I guess).

Chuddy, you're a cool moderator, just try not to be so quick to act on the mild insults or informative heated debates as this. As long as it doesn't turn into a useless flame war or something the kids shouldn't know, I think it's fine.

then shouldn't sony be the better company? i like nintendo more because they deliver the classic games and characters i want. i rarely feel really involved in the majority of PS2 games because the characters are too poorly made. i like just sticking with mario, zelda, and samus.
