the processor in the psp is designed to run at 333MHz but sony have advised developers to try and keep its usage as low as possible to save battery. 222MHz seems to be the magic number developers aim for when developing for it. Technically sony didnt lie...they just left out certain points is all :P. if u wanna overclock it over 333MHz though be prepared to have a very expensive paper weight but anything below that should be fine. Why would you want to overclock it though?

It's not actually overclocking. More along the lines of unlocking what's already there. The processor is clocked at 333Mhz, and is "de-tuned" down to 222Mhz to save energy.

Yeah... to save energy... I thought it was common knowledge that sony had crippled it purposefully, but I guess not.

If they had let everything run at 333Mhz, then it would have the original claim of 2 hours of battery life.

XD!

Sweet. Thanks for the info, although you guys didn't have to restate it over and over. :p Anyways, are there any programs that increase the CPU power for non-downloaded games? I heard Wipeout at 60FPS is quite sexay <.<

That's considered illegal? I doubt it... it's not like we're talking about increasing FPS on illegally downloaded games <.<

Ditto. I might notice a bit of a quicker drain in the Battery but that could also be because of my use of the Web Browser, and Wi-Fi kills the PSP battery.
