I don't know what it is, I'm back to playing my SP... SP!!!!
There aren't any DS games that I just HAVE TO PLAY, at the moment, and that blank screen below as I play GBA games is just an eyesore... So yeah, I'm back top playing SP of all things, and I'm loving it. From it's small compact size, to the tactile feedback of it's buttons and dpad... So what am I playing you ask? Pacman Arrangement!!! This is quite simply THE BEST Pacman ever released on God's green earth. It's got Pacman, PacAttack, PacMania and the best of all, Pacman Arrangement. Pacman is the classic rendition, while Pacmania is a very nice looking 3/4 version, while Pacman Arrangement is what you would expect if Pacman had a true sequel, or was released in this day and age. Pacman Arrangement features new ghost abilities and attacks, power ups, multi tiered levels, and a lot of fast and furious action that pro pacman players love. One ghost in particular wears glasses, and is a scared little bloke as he runs to avoid Pacman in contrast to the other ghosts. Eating him will turn the rest of the ghosts blue, just like eating a power pellet. The little guy with glasses gets the last laugh however, if he crosses paths with a normal ghost, he joins forces with them to create a bigger ghost with special abilities. These ghosts are huge, offer 2x the points, and can do things like: Mirror image themselves to patrol the exact opposite side of the map, Dash Attack with a horned ghost wearing boxing gloves, a ghost with rabbit ears that can jump to any point on the map, and my favorite, a chubby ghost who actually lays down more pellets for pacman to eat, often times hiding them in areas you've already cleared making it a real dastardly prank to find 3 new pellets awaiting you. There are about 20 or so levels, with an END BOSS!!! Yes, I was SHOCKED and pleasantly suprised to find that there was an End boss in Pacman Arrangement. The method in which you finish it off is also, Very Pacman, and had me in laughter throughout. I love this game, and even after beating it a handful of times, it's Pacman, and it never gets old. My favorite line at the end translates from Japanese so kooky: "The Game isn't really over, someone somewhere is being chased by Monsters!!!" This game has a lot of character and is extremely polished. I've been able to pull the "Ghost Juke" where you can pass through ghosts by moving Left/Right at the opportune moment, which to me, really establishes this game as a true Pacman. I have yet to really play PacAttack because it's more of a puzzle game.

alright man... after GT4 comes out no new good games come out after that. maybe socom 3, but i don't like the PSPs controls for FPSs. so you can have fun playing ape escape during that long PSP game drought while im playing SSB online.
the DS has its game drought early, but at least we can expect a steady stream of great titles later on. |

RE: Top Screen Slanted
Dude- Yeah, I really like this game. No estimate on when my PSP will be shipped back, but I did priority shipping, so I KNOW they have gotten my machine already.
Mormon- The only saving grace on my DS at the moment is the fact that it plays GBA games, and even then I'm still not using it, but my SP. The games coming out on the DS aren't all "that" like you stipulate, in fact, the only mainstream game coming out is Mariokart. Everything else is smaller franchises that have more of a niche following. As for PSP, Devil May Cry will be on show at E3... Dunno about you, but that's quite a note worthy title to come out after GT4. I'm not seeing much of a drought like you predicted.

RE: XBOX 2 On May 12
I'm glad you posted that list of games Lkr, now you can see what I meant by Mariokart being the only "mainstream" title of the bunch coming out for DS...
Everything in that list are franchises that only a core group of Nintendophiles truely know anything about. Sure Kirby is Huge, but that's if you're a Nintendo fan, asking anyone of my casual gamer friends and they don't know who the heck kirby is, but they know what a Gran Turismo is... Don't get me wrong, I like my DS, it will bring me many hours of gaming in it's future, but for now, it's nothing more than a big GBA for me. It's lineup of software doesn't have the wide margin of appeal the PSP's lineup has, nor does the DS' future lineup.
