dude the only games PS2 has going for it are SOCOM, Gran Turismo, and Ratchet and Clank. and honestly, thats not nearly enough games to make me wanna buy the system.
i'd wait until the PSP got some great games... buy an xbox, its got Jade Empire(coming soon), the KOTOR games, Halo, Star Wars: Republic Commando, Fable, Unreal Tournament 2(coming soon), and a bunch more. or just save the money for one of the 3 next-gen consoles |

RE: Re: How will the new Gizmondo be?
To answer your question, get a PSP. There are a few good games on the way (most of which have been hidden because of sports games and EA's games). The PS2 does have a few games for it, however they may not just entertain enough. For a console, get an Xbox. Besides the games that Mormon has listed, there's also the added bonus of Xbox Live. In my opinion, get a PSP. However, if consoles are more your thing, just stick to getting an Xbox.

RE: What I think would be cool...
Home:
I would advise against a PS2 or Xbox. I beta tested early Xbox stuff and Xbox live, so i had a system by default, however i have only used it as a DVD player. I think the only game worth getting is KOTOR. ( please note that i am a PC FPS whore so halo 1+2 suck for me, but i did complete both). And my PS2 has done much the same. A few late night GTA sessions do not justify owning it. If i was going to buy a console now, so near the next gens, i would buy a gamecube. Fun games, fun system. It is also worth it just for the new Zelda game coming out. ( another note, i ahve all 3 consoles) Handheld: I would get a DS, simply because of its dynamic nature, im sure it would keep you going for a long time with plenty of pickup and play titles along with amazing games that should be arriving soon. I would advise against a PSP if you are looking for something fresh and new. However much Sony fanboys woo the PSP, it really is just an overpowered playstation+ basic controler+ screen. This cannot be said for the DS, the DS does, and will, offer many many modes of gameplay. DS + GBA movie player = R.I.PSP. I am betting you are not a graphics whore, or you would be buying a handheld with better graphics than the PSP. So unless you ARE buying a Gizmondo, go for the DS. P.S. dont buy a gizmondo ;) lol. |
