RE: Re: My plan
having extensively played all 3 sony systems and having owned 2 of them, i came to the conclusion that sony kinda sucks. i never looked back. unless they could pull something as sweet as the ps1 was, i doubt i'll ever consider them again...
i used to want a PSP, but that was before i played a lot of its games.... and then i looked at the master game list, and BAM all urge for that thing was lost. so that could just be me, but im just saying don't go rush to get one immediately, take some time to figure out whether you really want to pay 250 bucks for it... |

RE: Re: RE: favorite song
Yeah I see where you are coming from. It's just that I looked at the pile of my games and gutted them out, picking the ones that I just do not play any more and woah when they add up, it comes to the price of the PSP so I thought what the heck.
I'm in no way expecting as much as I did for the DS because I love my DS and it's gonna be hard for the PSP to beat it. I figured it out by saying I want an MP3 player and a Portable DVD machine and PSP offers that and the games come as the extra to me. I have a DS to play games. So I had money floating around so I decided to buy one. And for the UK'ers this is what my pre order looks like; sad i know but i'm bored. ![]() My trade in list of games. ![]() One of the biggest credit notes you'll be likely to see for a while. ![]() And there it is, my token to gaming in even more heaven than I am now. |

RE: Must....resist....
well its your choice but i would not get one yet i have played one was cool and yes i wanted one for abit but then when you look at the practicality of it there real is none to my seeing well first of there are not enoth good games in development for it (for me anyway) it can play movies etc... well i dont want to buy umd disk that are only useful on the psp as i don’t even buy dvds any more just get them for free i can put movies on the memory stick but i don’t want to spend half the price i bought the psp for just to get a 1gb one when you can mmc card for my free nokia 7710 (pic below) for about £40-50 and as for the modding that’s the only thing that i can see me using it for but then just to download old nes games etc.... i could just get me a gbs a flash card and play them on my ds etc.... o and as for the internet my phone the nokia 7710 (i call it my phone i just use it for entertainment manly prefer my nokia 7610 for normal day use) has free internet were ever i am as long as i got a signal this is only because o2 pay as you go are stupid but that’s besides the point
i just don’t see the point in having a psp really even if i didn’t have my free phone why do you want to you have to be connect to your wireless network for the internet to work which you have pc which are alot better for the internet then your psp so that leave you with a portable dvd player well you can now buy a decent one for £100 or less with a much bigger screen then the psp and you could even hock it up to your console and us the dvd screen as you game cube screen if you wanted to so it has a mulit purpose ok that’s just some of the reasons that i don’t see getting a psp yet its not worth the money and i say yet as anything cheep enoth it worth buying ok that’s all i wanted to say and enjoy your psp chuddy and the rest that are going to get one ![]()

RE: Must....resist....
"This man should win an award for this years biggest post" :P anyway...
Like you said, you would'nt want one because it doesn't fit in your needs. For example I don't have your phone so i'm a vigin to watching movies on the go. I have a motorola V3 Razr. As I have stated previously I am purchasing it because I think it would be useful for music and DVDs for me to watch while I travel, playing the games, I'm not too worried about. I just think because I'm starting college and work I will benefit from it alot more than I would of done and as I had the spare cash laying around... why not? As for the Internet in the home business, I wouldn't use my PSP to browse I would use it for internet enabled games. Quote:

RE: make your own Revolution Controller
Well your post was not that short either
Anyway you know its not a dvd player just thought i would say that to get dvd quality movies on the psp to my knowledge you would have to buy the umd disks anyway so its not like a one time offer buy the psp and watch movies only for £10 a pop for each movie and since you sold all of your games just to get the psp how are you going to be able to afford a 1gb memory stick? (i know you said you had alot of spare cash around but if this was they case what was the need to get read of all of those game to be able to afford a psp?) as they are not cheep as you should know and about the internet games well you know buy the time that you might get what you call classic online games on the psp the ds will be online with such games as Mario kart etc..... (which we all know will be a classic) and if Nintendo get there way over here in the uk like they are doing in Japan there will be lots of wifi hot sports that you can use yours in for free which you cant do with your psp. and as for you might as well spend another £80 for the psp as it can play games that about it right well from what you have said you are manly going to get the psp for watching dvd and mp3s but in that case the portable dvd player will give you a better and bigger screen that as i said before will be able to be used with alot of other different products + you can get dvds free so you don’t spend money on them unlike the umd disks cost how ever much and as said before can only be used on the psp so abit of a waste of money and when it comes to mp3's well as for the psp's size its defeats the point of an mp3 player as they are small device that can hold alot of songs and 1. the psp is not small compared to other mp3 players on the market 2. as for storing alot of songs yea you can get a decent amount of songs onto 1 gb but then you have the cost of the card like i said before and think of all the other things you wish to put on that card movies which will take up quite alot of space and still not be as good quality as dvd and dont forget game saves etc..... then what if you got another memory card 1gb to put a few decent quality movies one and another 1gb for music and the one that came with the psp for game saves but o wait first of that’s not covientet as you would need to chaing the cards all the time and then buying the two 1gb memory card sticks that would end up costing more then the psp its self so its not as cheep as you think And i don’t real care if you have a game cube screen or not as the dvd one would be like i said muti purpose and probably bigger as most screens that you can buy specially for a console are poor quality screens and small but if im wrong you are welcome to take a pic

RE: make your own Revolution Controller
Hmm... Lkr was pulled to the dark side in a hurry, and he liked it all, and is now trying to pull in everyone else. It seems true that almost everyone that touches the PSP gets pulled in, except those of us that don't have the money and are looking forward to what Nintendo has to offer, although the same thing happened when DS was released. Even if I had the money and wasn't planning to spend it on anything more important like PC hardware, I doubt I'd like the PSP much more than I already do, the only thing it does that just about nothing else can do is have incredible graphics. DS can play movies and music, just put one of the several available media carts in it and you've got what the PSP offers but cheaper, minus some graphic quality of coarse.
It's sad to see some good games sold off, Splinter Cell and Goldeneye are some good multiplayer DS games. I'm guessing you don't expect to be playing them with anyone or you somehow managed to get bored of the multiplayer. The PSP screen won't be very decent over a few months or so, especially without a protector case. You can get a portable folding DVD/music player for cheaper (any maybe really cheap if you look in the right place) or just use the movie/music addon for DS, you already have a portable game player so why get another? If you like features and wouldn't mind spending the extra cash, you can get a powerful pocket PC for $300-$500 USD, which could play movies, music, games, browse the web, and loads of other stuff to organize life, not to mention it's a bit smaller than PSP. It's a bad sign when PSP replaces a bunch of games that are just about all for Nintendo systems. Consider all your alternatives before choosing the dark side, you've already suffered losing some good games and you can stop before you lose more to the PSP obsession, you must... resist! I'm probably trying too hard, but at least keep your alternatives in mind so you can choose your path more wisely. |
