PSP 2.01 Released already?!?!?!?(VERY IMPORTANT!)

Yes, it was due to the PSP Virus. Use your Network Update to upgrade, and if you use the downgrader(not reccomended, cause of the possibility it has the virus)make sure its the real one. BUT UPGRADE TO 2.1 IMMEDIATLY!!!!!!!!!!! Just hooking your PSP up to your PC can crash it...and it ruins the boot files, so you can't boot it. And SONY doesn't care, cause they warned about homebrew.

Answer: UPGRADE! There aren't any new features, other than the virus doesn't affect it. Also, if you had the Japanese 2.00, get this, so your warranty is valid again! I upgraded, and it was the smart thing to do!

Sony are just doing this to prevent you using home brew, there really is no reason to upgrade.

Downloading homebrew gave you a potentially higher risk to obtain the virus. Seeing as how I never even used homebrew, I just decided to upgrade.

it was a real virus...Norton detects it as a virus

I never realised there was such problems surrounding homebrew. Homebrew sounded awesome (and I mean awesome), and was one of the reasons I got a PSP. I'm satisfied now though with Lumines, so it doesn't bother me too much...
