I'll second that! You can have all the "realism" (ahem) and photacular graphics you want, but it's not going to save the game from being awfully boring.

SOCOM

Argue with that Biggy *looks smug*

Maybe it is because I suck at it... the thing is though, Burnout is accessible to everyone - even if you're not very good at driving (not me, of course) or if you're not good with cars and don't know how and what to tune your car with (me!)

Burnout = fun, Gran Turismo = snore...

RE: SOCOM

Although I will say one thing: For me, Gran Turismo is useless without teh wheel.

I prefer both realistic racers and arcade-y racers. 'Nuff said.

RE: Re: RE: Teh *offishul* gaming purchases topic...

I'm a realism freak a lot of times, mostly for physics rather than graphics. My brother likes racing games so he had both Gran Turismo original and 2 for PS1, which we occasionally enjoyed. When I play racing games, I usually use a joystick (PC) or steering wheel (PS1), which considerably adds to the realism and feel of the game.

RE: Re: RE: SOCOM

I really don't care about graphics on racers. After all, if you can get it going fast enough graphics won't matter assuming they're not so crappy you can't distinguish the track. Physics on the other hand, I must have. I love my copy of F-Zero GX, because it's so insanely fast, excellent physics, and you can make your own car. Then again, I also love Mario Kart because it's just such a fun game, and one of the only ones my family would ever play.
