region free?

when it says region free that means that it will play both american and jap games correct? and also. if i buy a jap psp game. does it have an option to play that game in english? some games like fire emblem,advance wars, etc. have the option to set what language you want to play the game in.

Language settings depend on if the developers put that option in the game. Some games probably will have the language option, maybe even all, but I do not know. I know that Gran Turismo 4 on PS2 is on Lik-Sang (Japan version) and they have a translation manual for menu options (hinting that it does not have an option to change language).

The PSP is supposed to be region free for the games, but for the other things Sony plans to do (movie player, multimedia type stuff) has not been announced if its region free and speculation is that multimedia will not be region free.

i thought i heard that movies will not be region free.

AFAIK, it's official that games are region free and movies aren't.

Since we're talkingabout Sony, I would just wait. They have tendencies to improve their products durability in later versions.

I don't think anyone really cared. I could get a PSP for free. I have dozens of people willing to buy one for me. :)
