185000 PSPs sold in 4 days

Congrats to sony for shifting 185000 units in 4 days in the UK. Accoarding to eurogamer.net the PSP has smashed the DSs record of 87000 in its first 4 days of release in the UK. Just goes to show that this war is far from decided. Will this sales level be maintained? Who knows? but this is definately no time for nintendo to sit and there backside.

They'll probably sell more at Christmas too, I hate to say it, but Nintendo are going to have to get their act together and release some real, great games...

well to be fair it is ninendos own falt they have never realy liked europe compared to japan and the USA as when they released the nes its was not populare over here and well they have kind of never forgiven europe for that thats why we dont that many good premotions or never did befor its only now starting to get better for europe as we are becoming a bigger gaming market evey year so now thay have put some effort into the european market especialy the uk

but i had no doubt that the psp would out sell the ds in the uk as people will buys stuff just beacuse and have no proper reason i bet thought the game sales will stay low though compared to the sales of the ds games

It's really not surprising. If you look at the charts, everytime a new system comes out down there it becomes the best selling system launch ever. This is like the 5th time in a row thats happened.

And you have to remember that the release is like a friggin' year late. So it's the only launch that got at least some decent games versus total crap like the Japan and US launches.

If Nintendo waited and launched the DS right now in the UK, I'd estimate it would sell about 250,000 in 4 days, no problem.

And for the record, the DS sold 87,000 units in only 2 days in the UK, not 4.

Nintendogs launches in a month there. Watch. A vast army of friggin' puppies will crush the PSP. And I will laugh...and pet them...cause they're so damn cute...
