Is it me, or does this look like the ON Rev?
Well, it appears that Quality Games > High Tech Hardware.
Although being impressed, jaded, and cantakerous, my PSP is no more. She's been silent for weeks now as I sit and watch it's sofware sales slide and Nintendo usurp it's throne once again as the handheld king. I relish th PSP hardware more than the games, and the PSP scene is all about emulation since those old games rock anything the PSP has to offer that isn't RidgeRacers. In any case, it's comforting, and relieving to see that Nintendo's risky plan is coming to fruition, as the gaming populace in Japan has spoken strongly. For the past 6 months PSP software sales have continued to deteriorate, while the DS continues to make up lost ground and then some. I have yet to fire up my DS in a long time too, but it's good to know that I'll have reason to soon.

oh how you toy with us ;)
I still have my "beefs" with both platforms, but let's put it this way, I'm a child of the 80's and I'm not likley to buy a system that won't have Mario on it.

Shucks... You guys! :o
Well, it's true, and I'm not the only person that shares this opinion on the PSP, just look at the numbers, they don't lie, the DS is trouncing the PSP in software sales back in Japan. It's no longer a matter of moving psps or ds', it's about who can sell the most software now that the players are all out on the field. Software is where the money is, it's the reason you sell hardware at a loss. It's good to be back, I look forward to MariokartDS, and some Splintercell with real Voice Comm!!! Oh yeah, the full version of Metroid will be nice too. The First Person Shooter games are my most anticipated, simply because they work so well on the DS, trust me on this, you NEED a mouse or stylus to truly play an FPS effeciently, and the DS delivers on that front. As for my PSP, I think it has and will become my new "home console." In that it's very powerful like you'd expect from a home console, very fragile, very expensive, and has more games that you'd sit down and play for a long time rather than games that you'd flick on and off for a few minutes just to pass some time. Sure sure, the PSP has Lumines which is great and all, but unless you put the PSP into sleep after you've already launched your game, you'r "5 minute shot" of gaming to pass time on a PSP would be up just a few minutes after finally loading the game up. The DS on the other hand, is my Portable System. Portable gaming is about one thing at it's core, Quick shots of candy coated spaces in time. Portable gaming takes the mundane out of passing time, whether it's a few minutes, or a few hours, the gist of having a portable system is to satiate moments in time which are otherwise not very enjoyable. When this urge arises, time in itself is of the essence, and the sooner you can get your "Quick shot" the more satisfied you feel as a result. Yamauchi was firm on this ideal with the systems Nintendo launched under his reign. The man had a point...
