RE: Re: RE: MM
I think it's easy to distinguish what kind of games both handhelds will cater to just by the titles that have been announced.
Nintendogs for instance is a game in which we would have never seen on the GBA. With Tamagotchi already been done, there's little need, or room for more innovation in a game like this given the platform's capabilities, the GBA. Throw in touchscreen capabilities, polygons and wireless connectivity and the playing field becomes a lot bigger by comparison.
Furthermore this is a game which isn't a game, if you catch my drift. What I mean by this is that it's less about scoring points, or saving a princess, it's merely about raising a virtual pet, to care for something that otherwise does not exist. This type of "time-killer" is much of what you're going to find on the DS in between it's usual spattering of namebrand games like Mario.
When V-Pocket comes into fruition, and the DS' role is clearly defined as more than a portable game machine with two screens, the nay sayers here will get a better understanding of what I have been saying by the fact that there is no overlap with the SP, and that SP game sales continue to rise.
