Wow, I knew Sony was desperate but this... ughhh. What's next? If you don't replace your batteries, the controller detonates every non-sony product? =/
Wii's controller uses AA (AAA?) batteries. But you could always get recharable batteries.

A japanese site revealed that it is indeed possible to replace it... if you take apart your controller.

Typical Sony, the battery was obviously designed to be replaceable considereing the shiny "recycle" sticker on it, and Sony refused to add a lid on the back of the controller to make it cheaper to replace the battery. They know people are hating them for it, and they know they're perfectly capable of making a minor modification to comply with what their customers want, so if it's not replaceable at launch then you know Sony is trying hard to screw everyone over twice.
