RE: Trackmania good on DS?

http://forums.ps2dev.org/viewtopic.php?t=1648

How long has the PSP been out in comparison, and what's the DS's greatest homebrew claim to fame?

Answer, less time time than the DS, Battleship and a Calculator...

RE: Killer Appp?

I agree, that they are a bit slow, but just give them time until online and all the great new games are released.

RE: Black and White DS!!!!!!!!!!

Dude, you know they won't, but when they do these updates to the PSP software they should set it to wipe out anything illegal. They could be sued since they have the power to do so.

Edit: And I don't think this is the first (or second) time you have claimed this.

This isn't the first time (or second) that you've spoken fececiously in regards to the facts about the PSP either.

Firstly, how do YOU know that Sony will wipeout homebrew? Are you aware that in the OS, has the default ability to run games from Memory Stick?

Are you aware that Sony has an open policy to homebrew at the moment, as long as it doesn't encroach on their intellectual property rights? i.e. warezing their games to run from a Memory Stick. This FACT has been proven by interviews with Sony's project managers, and is by large in part, the primary reason the PSP has done so well for itself as a handheld with a worse launch lineup than the DS. PSPIRC, PSPMSN, PSPBrowser, PSPTetris, PSPPDA, PSPTivo anyone?

I haven't touched my DS since Yoshi touch and go... I've worn out on the gimmick of "touch."

I play my SP nearly every day thanks to my new XROM 512 flashcard, mainly because I prefer the way the SP feels in my hands for gaming.

Sorry Ninty, I smell another VirtualBoy in the oven, and me thinks it's time to roll out the TRUE KING of handhelds, the next GB.

Re: RE: I OFFICIALLY give up on the DS

OK im not really in the mood to argue but i will to the point of the virtualboy thing.
the DS has actual legs to go places, it can play normal games as well as touch sensative games something of which the virtual boy didnt, as it was limited to red lined fake 3-d games.
i do love the concpet of the PSP and thats why im purchasing one, but i also like the games to be released on the DS.
when it comes down to it, its a matter of taste and opinion above anything else.

you must have small hands dude... i get hand cramps every time i go back to playing my SP...

i could care less about playing Game Boy games(unless these are GBA, then you've got my attention).

i've got plenty of music and movies, and feel no need for them "on the go" so im not bothering to get a PSP.

Same situation here. Playing GBA games also feels a bit weird due to the size of the DS in comparison to what you are playing. The SP balances that issue. Homebrew looks like the way to go. I don't see any problem. I do, however, find it odd that after all this time, the homebrew for the DS hasn't even come close to the homebrew of the PSP, as well as other hacks. I'm not ready to give up just yet. E3 is next week, and I'm going to give Nintendo a chance to remind me why I spent all this money on their handheld. If their E3 stuff doesn't impress me, then I must lay my DS to sleep (unless something further down the road awakens it).

RE: Re: RE: I OFFICIALLY give up on the DS

Mormon- I have big hands, which is why I have a problem playing games on the DS, because the A/B buttons are too close to the outter edge of the unit, while the SP's are farther in.

For me to game comfortably on the DS, my thumb literally has to overlap my index finger's knuckle, while on the SP, my thumb rests more naturally over the tip of my middle finger. This is a much more natural position for your hands, pretty much the position they take when you're sleeping or weightless. Whereas on the DS, the hand position is unnatural, and evokes cramping after 30 minutes. I do not experience this problem on the PSP, or GBSP.

TehDS- I agree, Internet browsing and Online Instant Messaging are the only facets of the DS that intrigue me at this point, and it will take E3 to see if that ever becomes a reality. The games, howevery good they might be, just can't compete with what I get visually from the PSP, and we all know humans are visual creatures, so c'est la vie :(

Lkr- We'll see what E3 has in store for the DS, maybe something will pop up that I just GOTTA HAVE for the DS. Oh yeah, I think anyone would be winning a race if they had the kind of headstart the DS did :P
