Well, you can't declare victory before the war really starts, but the Wii certainly took E3 by storm. 6 hour lines. Here's a quote from TG Daily:

i would like to say as everyone is saying how good nintendo is and that they are giving people the best games and that they have the longest que to test out there new system...
but we all know that every e3 they steal the show... they always have the best press confernece... they always have the longest lines to test out there stuff at the show and people always say good things about them at the show... but this is no good as this never ends up being what it turns out to be in sales etc... (im not talking profit btw) but i hope as they are changing gaming as we know it now they will be able to keep this suport and renewed confidence in gaming but im pritty shore that most people who got the xbox360 half of them will probaly end up getting a wii well the other go for the ps3 as they only bought the 360 as it was a power house at the time... and foe the people who are waiting for the ps3 they will only be convinced in the long run of the the wii anly if we see more "adult" title like red steel but with better grafics like the first party games... as from what i have seen it will be fun red steel but wont win any awards in it grafical details and yes i know that were not that bothered about grafics but most are and this wont change for the time being... but all i will say is that the wii wil not be a failer like nintendo is calling the gc i think it will sell more and we should see alot more games for the wii then we did the gc but i think they wont be ports of the other console games but more origanal/risky games from established develipers as its going to be alot cheaper to take the risk then on other systems as well as hopefuly indi games devs... but but i dont know yet as most of them seem to still be going for pc rather then thr wii a the moment... |

well i suppose only time will tell but i would call it another year nintendo have dominated and has just reasured me that my blind spending that i would do for the wii will be a good investment
+ you have to rember that the ds had a big advantage over the wii at the same time last year as even though we all know its not a game boy most people would have have just assumed it was and would have got one just as they had a gba and thought it was the next one + nintedo has basicly owned the handheld market ever since it entered it so people just assumed it would be good too while nintendo did own the console market untill the n64 ware they lost alot of third party support as it was hard to develop for and is when sony started there hold over the console market so with the wii they have to convince people that its good and that it is worth getting over all the other or as a good addition too but will not have the imedia back support they had with ds as they were number 1 in that market (still are as people are seeing how bad the psp is compared...)

Hehe, on this subject, Slashdot has an article up entitled: "Ken Kutaragi's Famous Last Words." Kutaragi BSing... I mean "talking" about the price.

You're not just getting a game system... you're entering the world of entertainment! You get a photoviewer which can be done on a cheaper system, a blueray movie player which fails in comparison to HD-DVDs... and a whole lot more! Can you imagine the possibilities!? GAHHH!
gg Sony. k thx bi.

Well technically, the BlueRay's have a lot more storage space, right? Regardless, I think sony's new media will fail. There are already some HD-DVD players on the market for much cheaper than the BlueRay's even if still very expensive. And people will be more likely to buy something named "HD-DVD" than some obscure name like Blue-Ray.
Not only that, but Sony's toted features a year ago have dropped drastically, especially if you don't buy the $600 model. Comparison. (if someone would kindly resize this image for me, as posting it would take several pages, I would be thankful) http://people.alfred.edu/~jdf1/stuff..._vs_new_02.jpg http://boardsus.playstation.com/play...cending&page=1 Last edited by ShadowMarth; 13-05-2006 at 11:12 PM. |
