Aww, I think both Sony and Nintendo are pretty much aimed at different, although overlapping markets in some areas.
Nintendo in my eyes would be aimed at almost everyone. Most of their consoles and games are straightforward and they tend to lean towards plain simple fun and life improvement (Ya know, with those Brain Age and finance helping games! XDD) A Wii would be the console to get if you're looking for a different take at gaming or are new to it entirely. A DS would be the handheld to get if you don't want any messyness with having to hook it up to your computer and the like. Sony on the other hand pretty much releases consoles and all for the gamers who more or less know what they want and have the energy and resources to sit down and fully or mostly use the product. I could be wrong but for me, I usually hear the phrase "I'm getting the PS3 for (Insert game here)!" and I'm one of them! I have never really heard someone say "I'm getting the PS3 because it's a generally good console." O.o So when it comes down to games, I think Sony just looked at its target market (teenagers, young adults and gamers) and decided to focus more on the "mature" titles. For me, it's less of an issue of who the game is aimed at. And uh... Devil May Cry has bishies!! XD On a totally unrelated note, Chuddy reminded me of this! ![]()
