Honestly the last game I remember actually loving was probably MM (Though I'm sure there might have been one or two that I can't remember). For the last 5 years or so all I have seen being thrown onto the market has been Hack-Slash and Shoot XXIII. Yes the games look beautiful (In some cases anyways) but what the hell doesn't now-a-days?
Personally gameplay, story, and characters have been utterly lacking no matter what company you chose to go to, whether Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft.
Zelda: Twilight Princess was a nice game I'll admit that, but am I the only one who is tired of repeating the same thing since ALttP? Yeah they have thrown a few twists in but I want variety. I wanted a real in-depth story and good characters. Everything seemed really rushed to me like they all just sorta sat around playing ping pong or shooting pool trying to come up with some real original stuff until they realized the release date was a month away and they pushed it back.
Halo, looks pretty sometimes but honestly it is the same as any other FPS to me. You aim, you shoot, you find more things to kill. Story honestly makes no difference to me because I really stopped paying attention. It doesn't need it really. It could just plop you into every map and say "kill everything" or "protect this person" and it'd be enough. I don't find it any different from any other shooter really.
Sony. Well there are too many selections to really say anything about anything really but I guess on a whole no matter what game I'd be saying similar things about whatever game I chose to speak about. There is nothing fantastic about the PS3, I guess. No real good exclusives yet but I can't complain about what isn't there I guess.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying anything here is bad nor am I saying you shouldn't play it I'm just saying everything is a lot duller now, because there seems to be a lack of creativity or real effort put into any games. Everything seems to have averaged out.

I agree about what you said about Halo and Zelda. When i play Halo 1 i thought it was great, absolutely fantastic. When Halo 2 and Halo 3 came out it bored me endless because it was basicly the same thing as backtracking through an endless array of enemies from Halo 1.
