ROFL!!!
I was reading an article on gamespot where Dell were defending the future of Gaming on the PC. Many believe that this generation will write off the PC as a vialble platform to develop for.
Do u think that the PC will be a dead platform soon or will it continue to prosper into the future? your thoughts :D |

RE: Liberty City Stories
PC Games/Gaming itself won't die. The only thing that I can see dying is how the games are played. I'm pretty sure as the games get bigger in size, people will want an alternate way to play them. That brings in the way console games are played; no installation required. Of course, this sort of thing isn't new to PC games. But I'm pretty sure it'll become maintream in the long-run.
Until the prices for PC components goes down even lower (or even until the prices for mid- to high-performance PC's goes down), the PC market won't really expand. ** No, PC gaming is not over. |

I can't imagine PC gaming dying, all the true hard core gamers play on PC's, there's billions out there. I haven't upgraded any major component in at least a year and I can still play all these new games at a decent frame rate, although some of them can't be high quality such as BF2. PC's might be a little more difficult to develop for because of all the hardware tests, but they also have nearly unlimited options (any kind of controller you want, ability for higher graphics, patches, mods, blah blah blah).
One thing to throw in since Dell was mentioned, I custom build my PC's and so does any other deep down hardcore gamer, you just can beat the flexibility and price of custom building and no junk you didn't ask for. |

I agree with Pilot. I used to be a normal console fan until I found Half Life 2. That game is awesome. When I built my new computer Half Life 2 was in mind. Of course I had to upgrade twice but it is all worth it to be able to play the high quality games that come out on the PC. PC gaming will NEVER die.

i agree. Some of the best games are PC exclusive (though HL2 is coming for xbox). But the price needs to come down sharply. for the price of a top of the range graphics card u could buy a 360 premium package and proably a game or 2 which is just wrong. But the PC is great in that u can put exactly what u want into it. and it has smashing games and more games than any other platform. and of course u can mod ure games aswel and download mods for ure games. Grand theft auto online does exist thanks to the mod community.
I would love to build my own PC but im poor :(. In my opinion the revolution is probably the biggest threat to PC gaming but the PC is here to say. |
