Yeah, I knew things like that, but I thought all of the companies were making losses to entice buyers.

THis news that the Gamecube cost $25 to make has really dampened my spirit for the next-gen. I thought games were so expensive to make up for these losses that the Ps2 and the Xbox made (at least, I think they made losses on each console sold). Nintendo didn't need to make the games so expensive, even though they were almost certain to finish 'third best', yet they were still the same price as the rest.

I was preparing to buy the Revolution because of not only a cheaper system, but cheaper games as well. Will Nintendo once again, despite making lesser losses than the rest, put their games prices the same as the rest in stead of making their prices competitive considering their image?

Worrying.

but if you look on it this way if nintendo made the second most powerfull system for suck a little price compared to the competitors does that not mean that they can then do the same with the revoluion as well make it cheap for use still make a profit but not make it much less powerfull then the competitors

o and its not up to nintendo what other company charge for there games they will choice hwat they do for theres and give guide lines to them but they cannot make them set there games at a certain price

Yeah, I get that much, but surely Nintendo get some say in the matter. Shouldn't they price their games as like £29.99 RRP so that other companies, presumably, follow suit?

They do. Every home ocnsole game here is now like £20-30. Normally GC games are sometimes more expensive.

I'm talking about next-gen though, they have to have the games a lot cheaper than the PS3 or Xbox in my opinion.

The prices game have up are estimates, it happens all the time. You'll be paying £40 max.

games for PS3 and xbox360 should be like $70. revo better be $50-60...
