I'm totally unbiased right now, as both the PSP and DS have their pros and cons, and I can't choose. I'm at a DS fan site, but I'd appreciate it if people would say: why DS over PSP? Battery for PSP has been confirmed to be 6 hours at medium brightness with ridge racers, the most graphically intese game, which is by the way brighter than DS. Why not DS? Why not PSP? Why DS? Why PSP?

RE: So what this port for?

I agree, like always, that PSP should be considered as a handheld like any other, infact, a handheld that is quite good but you have to realize that Sony has invaded the handheld market which was Nintendo's and some people, like myself, feel strongly about it.

Give it time element, we will soon realize the true potential of the Sony PSP.

RE: DS!

the PSP has way too many defects, only one "must have" title, and the durability is defenitely an issue. the DS has only the dead pixel, a bunch of "must haves" on the way, and durability is not an issue.

RE: THAMAN092 is sorry

is there really any point in asking people to tell you what you already know? Plus the max battery life for PSP is 6 hours according to sony so thats BS.

yea how do we know they didn't play ridge racers with the backlight off? that would explain it. and they said that its really hard to see without the backlight off, so i guess you can play ridge racers for 6 hours only if you strain your eyes a lot.

ElementK: It seems as if you are leaning towards the PSP after reading your sig. You say 'Nintendo DS> Not much going for it....PSP> Alot going for it, but short battery life.' I tend to disagree.

How can you say Nintendo DS does not have a lot going for it? It may not be as graphically impressive as PSP, but it is FAR more impressive in gaming innovation. PSP does look very cool, but like with the DS, I will have to play the demo versions before I make up my mind.

The Metroid demo sold me on the DS. The PSP will have to have something to sell me the PSP, and graphics will not do it alone.

Sony has no soul. It makes the hardware, then steps away. Nintendo makes games for their own consoles, showing their confidence in their own product.

And staying with it, listening to the fans (occasionally) and making what gamers want. Fun, imaginative, colourful games that we will enjoy for ages!
