as you guys know, more information is coming about the future nintendo consoles, (nintendo revoulution, gameboy evolution). there's still one announcement pending for march and the e3 is coming after that, so here's my weird theory: the next console and gameboy are going to be the same thing! i'm assuming this for many reasons
1 the new gameboy will be compatible, or could use gamecube games
2 the new revolution console wont have controllers
3 it would be innovative (imagine starting your game in a tv screen and finishing it on the road)
4 nintendo said that their new console was not going to improve graphically ( stick to the gamecube graphics)
what do you guys think about this?

Anyone see The Simpsons last night? HILARIOUS!

1. That would make it a big handheld unless the disk drive is an attatchment.
2. That would make it like the PSP, which is obviously a bad idea for portable systems. The best logical way to do it is use an external disk drive powered by AC (making it unusable or short battery life if not plugged in).

1. I just heard that it won't have a D-pad, being the first console ever not to have a D-pad.
2. That doesn't mean it will be portable, handheld systems have their controller built in, a "controller" doesn't mean a control device that needs to be plugged in.
3. I can't imagine a gaming system without a form of control, unless you see a "controller" as a device that plugs in which appears to be the case.

That would be interesting, a console that actually does something better than PC's, which is portability.

That's another sign, but maybe Nintendo is focusing on innovation instead of graphics a lot more than we think.

Bottom line: We'll see...

I heard that graphics would be a the PS3 level, (or better) but not the main focus of the system

No they haven't, they have said that the rest of the market is just focused on the best graphics. Which is true, as most idiots are attracted to shiny objects as fish are. (Haven't I said that before)

Yeah. Nintendo are improving the graphics but they are also creating a revolution in gaming somehow. The competitiors however and improving the graphics and leaving the "revolution" to the developers... Not gonna happen.

RE: MMORPG distribution through Wifi possible?

I reckon the controllers will have touch screens like the DS instead of A,B,X or Y buttons. It will also have one Analogue stick like the Gray one in the GC controller on the left hand side. And they,ll probably drop the D pad. Oh and itll have 2 trigger shoulder buttons and 2 normal buttons on the shoulders. Many worry that this would alienate 3rd party developers but i think it could encourage them. Instead of having a fixed layout it would allow developers to creat their own controllers (kind of) and they have the advantages of 2 screens. So it could mimic a PS2 or Xbox controller of needed. Nintendo have stated that they won't ignore technology alltogether. They fully expect the Revolution to be able to compete with the PS3 on the graphics front. Dont underestimate them, their technicians have been designing consoles longer than anyone else and they can pull off miracles.
As for GBE, i wouldn't be surprised if it was as powerful as the GC. The GC is already tiny so not much more work is needed and it doesn't consume as much power as PS2 or Xbox. A GC disk is just a little bit bigger than the Base of an GBASP so backward compatibility could be very possible. And considering how cheap the GC is to produce i reckon they could produce it at a lower cost than PSP. However expect to pay €250 for it id say if they do bring it out. The CD drive would not need a drawer like the Consoles. Instead you could just push it into a slit at the top or something Like the PSX.
Its all speculation of course

RE: Fox is Pure Evil!

Only twice in 15 years has Nintendo released a portable system without backwards compatabillity.
The first time was with the Game Boy (at the time Nintendo would have had nothing to make the gameboy backwards compatible with seeing as there only other system was the NES). The second time was the virtual boy. Given it's size and power technecly it could have played GB,NES or SNES games, but given that it was cabable of of only varying shades of red that didn't happen).

I would think that the evolution could play NGC games and maybe it's own games too (much the same as the GBC could play GB games and GBC games) allowing the developers to continue to develope for the NGC. It would make sense to simply make the GBE a portable NGC v 1.3 instead of something brandnew.

Given the libary of NGC games and the fact the NR most likly can't play them (give the new controllers) Nintendo would be smart to make GBE backwards compatable. (This would also releave stress with/from the NDS fans)
