RE: Can I post movies?

From N-Sider.com:

"The battery life may shock some of you: after a full night's charge (8+ hours), the Nintendo DS lasted only six hours before the light turned that dreaded amber color. I did not play the system to complete-shut down, so I don't know how long you have to play while the system is in the 'low battery' warning mode (Remember, the SP did allow a few hours of play in this mode). The dual-lit screens seem to drain more power than expected. For those interested, I was playing Super Mario 64 DS at the time. "

CNET.com:

"With the Sony PSP on the horizon, the Nintendo DS's battery life takes on particular importance; though Sony's handheld has video and music playback capabilities that the DS does not, the PSP's battery performance remains a question mark. We logged 6 hours and 40 minutes of gameplay before the DS ran out of juice, with the low battery light coming on at the 6-hour mark."

So stop with the battery complaints. PLEASE.

To stop the DS fanboys from nagging the PSP's battery life:

Before anyone says how that's DS on highest settings and PSP on lowest, let me compare the 2:
DS on highest, PSP on lowest:

Well ElementK, the DS' battery life is longer. Try timing it to when the battery actually dies.

DS microphone

http://psp.ign.com/articles/574/574557p1.html

The longest game play timed here was just 5hrs, 9 mins, with only 10:39 of MP3 play back.

This sugests that the battery it's self is of poor quallitty.

RE: DS microphone

I agree with drew, let's not forget the game played was not as taxing on the system as other games with heavy loads. Furthermore, the playan gets 15 hours of mp3 playback on the DS.

DS Handheld, http://www.dshandheld.com/index.php?article=53 claims you can get as much as 20 hours of MP3 play back on the DS. However I would tend to think x999x was right, cause you often hear things like 6 hours of battery on the PSP, and 10 hours on the DS (i don't believe either of these are true)

Even so, it occurs to me, that if the PSP get's a mear 10:39, that the DS gets between 38% and 46% more play back time. This is doing the same thing on both systems which means the Sony battery is crap.

That said, perhaps a 3rd party can build a better battery.

RE: Can I post movies?

I wasn't going off of any tests with my numbers, but what was reported by NCL staff. They are obviously giving the best case scenario. Then again, this device might put the unit in some sort of a sleep state, a screen off feature, or some other technique to conserve power.

Yeah, you should try that. You can't say how long the battery lasted unless you played it untill the battery died.
Oh, and I charged my DS I think five days ago and the warning light hasn't come on yet. :D

P.S.: Can anyone please tell me how to turn on sleep mode?

Just close the ds, it will go automaticly to sleep mode. The warning color comes when there is only 30% battery to go..
