UMDs Bite the Dust
Yep, Reuters is predicting that Sony's UMD format, its novelty quickly worn, is going the way of so many other failed media formats. Apparently UMD sales have plummeted as of late, and Universal Studios has pulled support altogether. Thank god for common sense. It prevailed... even after a year of insanity.

it was bound to happen once people realised they could put there dvds onto a memory stick and play it from that. sony didnt really think that one through. i wouldnt be surprised if they try to stop movie viewing from cards in a future firmware update.
