It could get fat asses off the couch and actually move around. And could potentially save people from cardiac arrests or from just plain fatness - which corresponds to their self-esteem, thus could also decrease the suicide rate.

True, although that could backfire. I think any seriously overweight gamer is going to have a heart attack while playing warioware:smooth moves . Also the wii is trying to get people of all sorts, so there could be alot of old people playing to...

But I bet if ever such a thing were to happen, Jack Thompson would be down there like a fly attracted to zhit, blaming the wii for the deaths and not the peoples bad health... woah, off topic! ^-^; I just hate Jack.

Microsoft may have an exclusive on some EA games, but not all. Madden NFL 07 for Wii is gonna have exclusive features only available on the Wii, different from all other Madden NFL 07 releases on other systems, and EA is pushing the Wii version big time. From NP issue 208 pg 57:

So, how does EA select from its 27 million-plus-selling franchises for its initial salvo on the Wii? "Our biggest challenge is picking the right games that we can do with the resources that we have and deliver what our consumers want," explains Schappert. "I think were doing a good job of it with what we chose; some of the biggest franchises that we have-that we know consumers are clamoring for-and some that we think will be stellar with the new control scheme."

Die-hard EA fans will not be sticking with the Xbox 360, they will also be purchasing a Wii.
The article also mentioned that Schappert, the company's senior VP, is a self proclaimed die-hard Nintendo fan, so EA will NEVER go exclusive to Xbox 360 or PS3 as long as he is with EA.

Personally, all things considered, I believe the Wii will win based purely on current hype, innovative technology, and lists of 3rd party software developers behind the next-gen consoles.

im not even gonna vote until i can actually get my hands on the wii, and see how fun it actually is. cause that pretty much determines the success of it or not.

hmm i couldnt care less about fifa games but pro evo soccer too... that kinda sux... meh i dont buy em till there cheap neways...

but all i can say is sports games get screwed around... if NHL gets liscensed to just EA or 360 i will be PISSED... the EA nhl games suck and i want 2k7 on wii...
