Wii vs. PS3 - The Poll Numbers

It's a shame that nintendo and sony didn't properly stock their consoles, all we're seeing in terms of statistics is the ammount of people who managed to blag one, and not the amount of people who actually want one too. Makes you wonder what the true figures are, dun dun dun.

The only 'true figure' is the amount of consoles sold, but alot of the time, the amount manuafactured/shipped is often used and interperated as being the number of consoles sold. The Xbox 360 figures from Microsoft are a very good example of this.

Oh yeah, I know that. But say nintendo and sony had an unlimited supply of consoles and the amount of sales wasn't affected by console shortage- I'd like to know what THOSE figures might have been :[

I think its also much to do with the price though,
since people, just cant afford the PS3

Well, Wii is definitely catching up to the 360 and is a sure winner. It looks like my predictions were slightly off by a month or two, so it'll probably be early summer when Wii passes 360.

I doubt that, I still think it'll take until around or after this holiday season...although I guess it really depends on how releases turn out.

Smash Bros and Halo 3 are gonna put sales through the roof for both systems...

NexGenWars is full of crap...lemme tell you...VGCharts actually uses real sales data and announcements...

It's sorta sadly expected that it's Japan that's carrying the Wii over the 360 (in relative sales numbers to the 360), it's the only region that generally doesn't make a big deal about graphics. It's probably because Japan has had such good technology for so long that they've already learned that graphics don't really matter for making a game fun.

My prediction for 20 million Wii sales? Just a rough guess (no math) I'll say somewhere around late 2008/early 2009. I predict 360 to be about 15 million then and PS3 around 8 million (or 10 million if they have a huge price drop and actually meet most of the demand).
