Wii vs. PS3 - The Poll Numbers

To more generalize:
About 2/5 are planning to get a Wii on launch day, 2/5 are planning to get a Wii eventually, and 1/5 aren't planning on ever getting one.

About 1/10 are planning to get a PS3 on launch day, 3/5 are planning to get a PS3 eventually, and 1/3 aren't planning on ever getting one.

Or: 80% of gamers are looking to the Wii, 66% are looking to the PS3...


Deny the polls all you want, but I think it's a good representation of what most gamers are thinking right now: "I'll get a Wii for now, and a PS3 in a few years when the price drops and I can actually afford it..."

The new threads about polls and lists are getting old nmaster... But anyway, this is the first Wii vs PS3 thread... sort of... So it stands. Oh, and I don't know any sites that will let you pre-order Wii or PS3 yet. Those 3.6 and 1.6% respectively are full of it.

But yeah, your definitly right SM, I think the ones who say they already preordered it ARE full of it. Now, there are a few sites that let you preorder it, but none of the major retailers let you yet. They COULD have preordered it already, but it's stupid to order from anyone your not going to get it from first day IMO. I'm sleeping outside the nearest GameStop for mine...

Polls never interest me tbh, theyre hardly ever spot on, a massive poll was carried out to see who theyd vote for, Tony Blair lost this poll, yet he still one the actual election.

That's because political votes rarely consist of everyone who takes the polls. Everyone likes to complain, but nobody takes the time to go do something about it...

Whether this is spot on or not, I think it's fair to say the gaming community is not liking the PS3 price point, and Nintendo's definitly peaked everyone's interest with the Wii...

I dont think anyone likes the PS3s price point. The only reason that i may (eventually) get one is Tekken. Honestly. Nothing else at the moment.

really the PS3 price point is crazy, my friend is planning on buying it right out of the gate and i think he is crazy, i am just sticking with my pc...well since im in college now i really dont have a lot of money to spend so thats all i got..oh and my gamecube, which is really popular in the dorms btw haha.
