The way I see it, snaking is only snaking when it's used along straightaways, miniboosts are meant to be used on the turns and not straightaways, so using it on every turn in a zig-zaggy track isn't snaking as I know it.

Edit: BTW Mormon, I'll say it again, my attention wasn't fully on the game, it was also on my cell phone. I think we should rematch with me full focus before you say anything about my MKDS skills vs. yours.

yeah i kinda agree with pilot here, the controversial thing about snaking is using the powerslide, which is meant for turns, on a straightaway. but multiple powerslides on one turn? powerslides were meant for turns, so theres no real issue.

I don't race snakers, they're a completely different class, so they can't pwn me, and even if I do race and they win it can't be considered pwning me because it's a cheap way of winning, like racing NASCAR against go-karts. Now if I happen to win against a snaker, that's definite pwnage there, especially if it's a more experienced snaker.
Have you not seen the staff ghost replays? If I recall correctly, they use multiple boosts around the larger turns, but as you should know they don't snake at all.

oh come on.

snaking is the only way to play competetively these days. why race in a go kart when everybody else is in NASCAR-type stock cars? theres no point, unless you like losing. and if the go kart wins, thats not called pwnage. they obviously suck at what they do.

Wtf mormon. That's downright bull and you should know that. I hate to invade your clan thread, but I'm gonna since you say this. Your analogy is completely invalid. Look at NASCAR, they have strict regulations about what you can and can't use in your race car. You can't use certain engine types, and such. If it were against the rules to use something like that in your race, would you do it against the rules just because the officials can't do anything? Obviously you would, since you support snaking, and Nintendo has said that it does not approve of this. End with the following, I'm sure you understand my meaning.

ok well pilot thinks a nascar car lapping a go kart and winning(like in snaking vs non-snaking) its not called being pwned.... of course it is, being pwned is getting owned so much its ridiculous. and that falls under the "pwned" category. but a go kart winning against people who don't know how to race in a nascar car... i've never seen a snaker get "pwned" by a non-snaker, i've only seen them barely beat them. thats not pwnage. at all.

i think i should also mention that i rarely snake against non-snakers... it only happens if they really pissed me off in the race before =P

Really. As YOU should well know, the developers themselves have said that they don't snake. We have that proof, and it's been displayed before in a thread on the matter, where I seem to recall you were supporting my side of the argument at the time. What we have seen from nintendo saying that snaking was OK was a letter from a 'phonemonkey' (actually an email monkey in this case), stating that he wasn't sure if it was intended to be in the game, but that he snaked. So, who's opinion matters more, the game's developers, or Stan from washington?
