I played a random match recently and everyone (all 3 opponents) just went to the item boxes and drove back and forth over them and releasing everything they picked up. They were still on the first lap when I was on the last. One of them apparently got bored of it in the middle of the last race, but needless to say I won every race.
Another random race was a bit different, 2 of the opponents disconnected. I actually don't remember all the details but whatever happened made it a bit too boring for me to keep playing (I still never DC, I just didn't do another search).

All my searches picked up a full match relatively quickly, so I'm not sure MKDS is quite dead yet. A certain group of people might have been discouraged from MKDS by the way another certain group of people race (I'm sure most of you know what I'm talking about), but from what I've seen it's not dead. Strangely enough, the people I've seen don't even race the way I thought a year ago everyone would be racing.

You mean snakers and none snakers? Well I know mkds is not dead, but on every site I go on there seems to be just a few still playing it. This may sound corny but WE NEED TO UNITE! I think someone should make a site just for mkds and stop players from spreading out to different places. But thats easier said than done .

I heard about that and it's called sandbagging or something. Also, out of all wi-fi games I have(ac excluded), mk picks up full matches fastest. MK is crazy far from being dead, all 6 of the people I faced only had a few matches. With all the new people, some are bound to stay.

Sandbagging is lagging behind marginally to grab the better item, it's not just sitting there at the item boxes throwing items
