lol, America's Army sucks. You gotta do all these crappy tutorials before they even let you online. and then when you get online, the game sucks...so yea

America's Army is pretty good. You only have to go through a breif tutorial or two to get to the basic gameplay, a few more to get to the rest. And the game is great. Much better round-based combat than Counterstrike. Counterstrike is laughable.

I've been playing it for about a week and just because it appears a good time for it, I'll give my first impressions.
The training isn't all that bad, you could complete them all in just a few hours. You don't even need to complete them to play online, but for all the online capabilities you do. They have a somewhat new feature called "Explore The Army" which provides non-honor (unranked) servers for players to play on without going through training. You can play on other servers without going through all the training, but you won't be able to do some things like be a medic if you don't pass medical training. The concept and the gameplay are quite good. The players on the other hand aren't always so good, at least on the Explorer servers. The first time I played online there was a hacker with an aim-bot, he knew where everyone was and literally ended every round against about 6 players in about 20 seconds. It was then that I found out how difficult it is to initiate a votekick. After that, I haven't noticed any obvious hackers, but I have come across countless mass team-killers and anti-campers that either TK campers or try votekicking them. It was then that I found out how hard it is to get a votekick to pass on an Explorer server, because you literally need every other player to vote yes, and sometimes those mass TKers bring in a friend (or another computer) to prevent votekicks from passing. Outside the Explorer servers, specifically in honor (ranked) servers, the players are more mature. I'm guessing this is not only because of the honor, but because there are actually admins outside the Explorer servers and the settings (such as votekick) are more harsh. I'd say America's Army is sort of a mix between Raven Shield, Battlefield 2, and Counter-Strike: Source. It has some of the teamwork and feel of Raven Shield and Battlefield 2 and some of the annoyingly immature players of Counter-Strike: Source.
