Jeebus, does anyone still "ride horses" as a hobby?

But in any case, it wouldn't be spam. If the person mentions "horse riding" as something they enjoy doing, then it'd be fair for others to post about "horse riding" within that thread.

Goodness, I've obtained a new-found hate for horse riders.

EDIT: ShadowMarth, I already suggested that... :P

But what about "yeah, horsies rox!", or "I agree with you on the horsies"? Or perhaps "Oki hi, welcome to the forums. Horsies are mean to me."?

(I'm pushing it. But it's still going to be an issue.)

Yes, it will. As long as we keep that sort of thing contained, though, we shouldn't worry about "horsie-loving" spreading throughout the forums.

I dont see the point in this welcome forum as we didn't have it on the old site but it all turned out to be fine in the end.

Even if we did, how would this improve things as we dont get many new members and why would they rather post there then anywhere else on the site just so they get a "hi how are you and welcome to touchds"? We do that anyway to any member that posts in any topic + I dont think that just by giving new members somewhere to post at the beggining is going to get us new members or get the ones that havent posted yet, as it does not effect them whether we know or not if they read the fourms on this site. From what i have hear from people on this site and some people i know they visit the site on a regular basis but dont join or post. By having this new Board, it will create spam...not good.

(This was all my opinon and i hope that I got the right end of the stick)

chuddy woz ere'

As a new member I was hunting around to see if there was a section or thread to introduce myself - I didn't see one. :) I think it would be a nice addition. You'll always get some members who will post, "Hi, I'm new" and leave it at that even if you request for more information. Meh!

But some of us n00bs do find it nice to have a place to say hello so we don't fill up other sections doing so, and it can be a bit daunting starting off on a new forum. Just my humble opinion as a newbie. If people don't like the section then they don't have to view it.

Now we have an opinion from a new member. And, the poll agrees.

Chuddy, shall we set the new forum up?
