Although I can't claim to know the guy I felt Wildcard was only really useful for the sigs: he didn't really participate in any other part of the forum. Not to say that the sigs aren't/weren't appreciated!

wildcard just did some wallpapers (i think thats what it was if i remember correctly) and then just disappeared

dude it was a LOT of wallpapers, not "some" =P

and yeah he did participate in the other forums, just mainly in his art thread.

He maybe commented, but definately don't think he added any of his "legendary-ness" to other topics aside from the wallpaper topics.

Let's face it guys - most of these guys are "dead" and probably have lives nowadays. Shame, eh?

Wildcard was awesome and he put himself out for us. Aw, making all those desktop backgrounds and his thread page got in the late 50's if I remember. He should certainly go down in the history books.
