Apparently it is allowed as long as you let the filter take it out, avoiding the filter isn't so allowed and will result in a warning and if you continue disrespecting the warnings you'll end up with a short ban and if you still keep doing it you might just end up with a really long ban especially for really big offenses (like say... 2 years). That's still being fine-tuned but it's generally the way it is now and probably will continue to be. Profanity isn't quite as bad as complete disregard for the mods when they ask you to stop something.

Swearing's a part of the English language and I feel that we should be allowed to use it in the correct circumstances.

Well so long as the swearing isnt directed at another member for the purpose of flaming it should be allow...Becasue I got banned for swearing by Nmaster the other day like six times.

Besides, thiss site doesnt have a list of rules anyway...Where is it? And surely I dont see any rules for the shoutbox.

Swearing as a verb is ok. As in 'i so badly wanna get a ****ing ds lite' but not when it is directed at another member. Then its bad. As for the filters. Keeping them in the shoutbox, when swearing is allowed is just contradictory, so why dont we take them down? And if they still stay up, and if we swore before, and the filter caught them, then why was swearing so bad if it was blocked out?

Guests can see the shoutbox, and if crap goes in the shoutbox I'm sure some potential members would think this is a crap site and wouldn't join, mostly the people with good manners that avoid that kind of thing. I see absolutely no reason for spamming, swearing is a different story and I'll accept it if I'm told to (which I am right now), but spamming is stupid and personally I don't want to tolerate it. I believe one reason for TDS being so slow lately and having database errors is because of the some 10000 posts (much of which is spam) that went in the shoutbox in the past week or so, all basically a waste of space.

Omg...the shoutbox was reset like two or three weeiks ago man, with a total now of 10,040 shouts. And I dont think that it was spam..because if it was, then I guess your calling everyone a spammer becasue i did not spam dude.

This is stupid. If youve 'changed' your ways, then why are you so helll bent in letting spam be allowed in the shoutbox. To 'let off' steam. Why do you have to do that virtually. Go beat on yor friends or something.
