Now's not really the time to be discussing the addition of another staff member, but to assess the problem at hand. Like Mor... Zeratul said, the current mods are more likely to be given more power than for us to hire another member (especially as an admin, that's just much too high of a position to elect someone without the experience to do so). I mean, look at Chuddy. He was a mod for quite a looong time before he was granted the position as admin. Do you guys honestly think that we'd just decide on a new admin from a regular member? Not likely, other than maybe a position as moderator.
If this is an isolated incident (there's only been three IPs that have caused trouble, the others were duplicate accounts), then we won't be having any organizational changes any time soon. If not, then there will be an "upgrade" of sorts amongst the staff. As you all know, Mormo... ZERATUL!! and I are more than capable of handling the situations that have appeared recently.

Actually, no you weren't. None of you were. It's simply not a question of mod powers, those are plentiful, it's a question of who's on when. I sent several warnings through the system that reports bad posts when I first saw the spammers around in first period of school (about 8:00, likely 8:20). I came back at about 4:00, and lo-and-behold, not only were they still there, but another had joined them, and they'd got on a rampage throughout the forums, unopposed by any force, simply some warnings and comments by me, bignds, and a couple other members. It wasn't until even later that the mods finally arrived and got it done.
It's simply not a matter of mod power. People have been saying we've needed a new mod or mods for quite a while, yet nothing has happened. This event is a clear indicator that this is likely, yet you still disagree? As I said in my first post, if this is an isolated incident, that's fine, but if this happens again, or continues, then I don't see a reason not to elect a new mod to keep the site clean. Chuddy can make his announcements, but that won't solve anything. Limiting our own access to features simply to stop the bad members from using it won't help at all. We don't need any of these things, what we need are more mods. Our recent problems stem not from our average members, as they have been as great as always, it stems from these new members. Once you were all aware of the problem, you did a fine job of taking care of it, however, the time it took for any of our four mods to notice, even with people reporting it, was rediculous.

technically we have 3 mods, since allen doesn't check anything other than the mod board and shout box(and this board occasionally, im assuming)
you guys don't have to react to the spam or anything, cause you know we'll just delete it later on. i don't see why its that big of a problem, really. and this is the first time that no one has been on for a good period of time to take care of it. the only other time that we had problems was just that me and dsdude spent a good deal of time just sitting here watching the site and constantly deleting norticon's posts. as dsdude said, its an isolated incident...
