Here's the deal. I want to make all this as streamlined (efficiency ftw) as possible. So, the mods who currently are "queued" for a review still have first dibs on those reviews (i.e, I still have the opportunity to review MKDS, and Namster still has the opportunity to review NSMB). Here's where I'm extending the review opportunity to the regular members: All a member has to do is request to review a game, and they can review it. If they request to review a game that is currently in mod's queue, the member can only review it if the mod decides to not review the game themselves. It's all about volunteering. So here's a quick example:
Lkr decides he wants to review NSMB. So he PMs a mod (or posts in a "review request" thread if that is easier) saying that he wishes to review New Super Mario Bros. Now, since Namster has said he will review the game, Lkr can't review it. However, if Namster decides to not review it (or takes too long), then Lkr will be able to review it.
If Lkr wants to review a game that isn't currently assigned to a mod, all he has to do is await approval, and then type up his review. The review will have to conform to certain grammatical guidelines and formatting. After it is written, he sends the review to a mod for final approval, and it is posted. Of course, if it still doesn't seem "up to scratch," then Lkr would have to rewrite it and send it again. Same applies after a mod-queued game is approved for a member.
Sorry to use you as the example, Lkr, but you're the first non-mod I could think of at the time (take that as you will). So that's how I see this working out. We mods can only do so much, and I feel that it is necessary that we obtain all the help from the members that we can get. Volunteering is all we can rely for now, seeing as how "hiring" full-time reviewers isn't exactly a current option.
All reviews will have to be of a certain length, and quality of grammar.
