Is it the fact that you can only have so many units so you have to think further ahead in the scenario?
I'm not sure which i like more, i think they're as good as each other. They both have their good points, aswell as their bad points. It'd be awesome if they could somehow integrate both methods into one. Even if they did, they would have to make the controls for the 360 version pretty adaptable. I played LOTR: BFME2 on the 360, and i can't say the controls did the game justice. They were really sluggish and if you pushed one button, it changed what another button did. Why not just download it Biggy? Or are you not into the whole pirating thing? |

i could never get my pirated warcraft 3 to work(i lost my disc) so yeah idk how to do that stuff >_>
but yeah... i like the whole population limits thing, plus theres fewer units and all of them have their strengths and weaknesses, so its not like you can just throw out some pretty decent units in the Total War games and still be able to win. idk, i prefer the micromanaging of starcraft and such |

You probably needed a No-CD crack. It makes the PC think the disk is in, and it just reads the game off your harddrive.
There is a kind of unit limit on Total War aswell. You can only have as many battalions as there are spaces to command, and you can only store so many in a city. On Rome: Total War, the units have strengths and weaknesses aswell, they just go into more depth than the others, but it is possible to pwn the opponents without them. F'r instance, on Total War, if you had a battalion of archers on the top of a hill, they can fire further than if they were at the bottom. Whereas if you had archers on AoE, their range is just the same anywhere, unless you count towers. Personally, i can beat any free-roaming enemies with 3 or 4 well-placed battalions, 2 Archers and 1 or 2 Cohorts. It's pretty much all about your positioning, whereas, on AoE and SC, it doesn't really matter where you place your units, unless its a major vantage point, the outcome is going to be the same. The only time i've found positioning important on SC, was when i was doing a skirmish, and i found that some units were better than others at killing certain enemies. and the opponents base kept sending out the certain enemy from one side, and a different one from the other. |

no dude, in AoE(2, at least. idk about the first) being on a hill gets you farther range.
but anywayz, as i said, i just prefer the micromanaging in starcraft & similar games. fewer unit types means you need to think and strategize more to get the optimal effect than like with the 300 types of units availble in total war games. theres just more depth to the SC units, which is what i like. sooo is there any way you could help me attain this... (wc3 thing) |
