That sounds a lot like one of the Google Video's I posted in the shoutbox a couple days ago. Some guy took donations from people that wanted him to smash an Xbox 360, he got the money, and waited some 30 or 50 hours outside Best Buy (first in line by a long shot) and while he was waiting he went over to Home Depot and bought a sledgehammer. He was the center of attention (a TechTV guy and a local news van interviewed him, although he probably meant G4TV but hates them too much to say it) and when he finally got it he took it outside the door and smashed it up, there were some funny reactions and some people (even Xbox fanboys I'm sure) wanted him to keep smashing it.
