My brother got in for a thanksgiving visit yesterday, and he got his Xbox 360 last midnight and showed it off to me for the past day.

After we hook it up to my HDTV and play some COD2, we wanted to play some versus in SSX3. So we pop it in, and get "the blue screen of death", but MS says it will play fine on the 360. So we try it again, and it works. We get playing, and we notice some MAJOR pixelation problems. We check the disc, see minor little scratches, clean it off, check to make sure the Hard Drive is in right, and put it in again once again.

This time, not only do we still get pixelation problems, but the framerate is out of control, I mean massive slowdon. I even took out my HD Component cables and switched them out with standard definiton cables, but to no avail. Neither of us could take it anymore, and my brother was afraid the system was a defect. So we take it out, and give it a rest.

This morning, I offered to rent Kameo for him. We were the first ones to rent out this specific copy, so there were no scratches at all, spanking new.

We both rotate playing the game for an hour, and then it freezes on us. I take the disc out, and see countless scratches. I was baffled.

We take it back to Blockbuster so switch it out, and now theyre ordering ME to pay for it because the game wont play.

So my brother ends up plopping $55 bucks for the damaged disc, and it wont even play

Now even on COD2, dozens of scratches mysteriously appear after I play with it for a couple minutes, it has frozen a few times already too, im afraid that wont play at all soon.

And now, my brother is at Gamestop, trying to find out what the hell is going on with the system, which will cost him a hundred bucks to get fixed. Either that, or well have to wait 3 months to send it in to MS and let them fix it.

I feel so bad about this, because I offered to rent the game. I am simply dissapointed at MS and their shoddy POS. Ive never had a problem with my PS2 or GC. Who the hell manufactures this garbage?

That's horrible. The first batch of consoles are, so i'm told, are always a bit poo.

ah well 360 has frik all in games "but it has teh kameo n halo and perfect dark", why buy a console for a genre played better on a pc?

Dude, funniest story from someone at school. Someone actually did this, and I wish I had. He went to the local Rhino Games (local? Dunno) and stood in line for a long time. He started at the front of the line. He let everyone cut in front of him, until they were down to the last 360. When they were, he bought the very last one, went outside, opened up the box, and smashed it to bits with a sledgehammer!
