Xbox 360

Who's played one? Who's getting one? What games are you getting?

I'm really, really considering getting the 360 over the PS3 at the moment, enjoyed playing it today immensely and can see ten or so games I would really, really love to play on the 360, plus the obvious Xbox 1 games that I missed in the first offering of the Xbox 360.

I'm trying to become much more of a casual gamer of sorts. I buy games way too regularly, but don't complete them most of the time, when I get a game next-gen, I'm pretty much going to play through unless it's really really bad or really really hard. I don't get my moneys-worth at the moment, if truth be told.

Games I would want: Resident Evil 5, Condemned, Kameo, Elder Scrolls, Dead Rising looks cool, Gears of War, Saints Row.

Call of Duty 2 also has to go into that list, I played it today and was absolutely delighted with it. Just thought it played well and seemed a good enough shooter. Plus there's the obvious online play that the Xbox does so well (not too sure if CoD has online play, but even if it doesn't, it still looks awesome)...

Of course you're considering PS3 because you haven't experienced it yet. And with the PS3's release a billion years from now, who wouldn't be tempted?

Saw (though never played) Call of Duty, I have yet to be impressed by the 360.

I'll stick with this-generation's games for now.

$10 says the game looks better on the 360. (And I'm not talkin' bout the kiosk one, I'm talkin' full retail version)

It's a very exciting experiance. I almost wet myself when I saw it for the first time. I played King Kong last night. That game looks amazing. The people behind me thought that I was watching a video. There were no HUDs. But the game looked amazing. I had to tell them I was playing it in real-time.

Hey man, looks better or not, I couldn't tell. I played the demo on the 360, then I went home, downloaded the same demo, played it hours on end. Then a day later I went back to the 360 version. Very impressed that my computer paralleled it so well. Besides anti-aliasing affects (which I think are overrated for the stress on your computer), and some slightly more spectacular dust affects on the 360, my non-gaming computer handled it at a solid 30-50 FPS throughout according to fraps.

Also, King Kong WAS AMAZING! The thing is... even on the 360 it had framerate problems... very annoying.

It seems I just have a much keener eye for detail, then. I saw some very noticeable differences between the two (I reiterate, not the kiosk demo; the full retail version).

Full retail version of what? I hope you're not referring to the console game, Call of Duty 2: Big Red One. That's a generally different game, though it runs the same engine I believe.
